2024 Spring Retreat for Adoptees

Hi everyone

We had a really successful first retreat for adoptees in June 2023. Whilst our venue was idyllic, some feedback was that single rooms was the preference (most were sharing). So we've taken that on board, and searched high and low to find a suitable venue for our second retreat in 2024.

Spring 2024 - Second retreat

Noddfa is a Welsh word meaning refuge, a place of welcome and peace, a place where you can regain energy.

We hope that all the groups who come here will experience this in the comfort of the house and the beauty of the surrounding hills and the sea.

We are located on the North Wales coast in a village called Penmaenmawr, which sits in the foothills of the wonderful Snowdonia National Park and Snowdon itself. You can take walks in the hills behind us to clear your head or take a stroll on the beach, just a ten-minute walk away and enjoy the sounds of the sea and the wind while clearing your mind and relaxing.

The centre holds retreats for lots of different groups, musicians, walkers, women’s groups, Twelve-Step Groups and some religious groups too. The centre now classes itself as a spiritual centre but was formerly a religious centre – there is still a small chapel and there may be religious references around the centre, please be aware of this - our retreats have no religious basis.

There are several local bars and there are local cafes and pubs too.

There will be a mixture of sessions that include: input from us, small group discussions, group sharing, meditations or other ways to relax the nervous system and free-time to reflect, walk, rest, journal or otherwise do what you feel like.

All participants will be adult adoptees who are likely to be at a variety of different stages of their journey into being adopted, all are welcome.

We have a diversity policy that welcomes adoptees of all genders, ages, nationality, identity orientation or religious background.
It is beyond the scope of our retreats to explore further trauma so the topics covered will all be adoption and attachment related.
